CommandLatch for iPhone

CommandLatch has a native iPhone app in the works — quick actions, a Home Screen widget, and built-in Siri phrases. This page describes what it will do.

What the iPhone app will do

A full native dashboard, on the same account you already use:

  • Devices — list your paired Macs, pair a new one, and see live status.
  • Quick actions per device — Lock, Sleep, Lock + Sleep (with an In 5 minutes delayed option you can cancel), Mute, Volume up/down, and Play/Pause — each with real status feedback, not just “queued”.
  • Keep awake — presets, a custom duration, and the lid-closed option (lid-closed needs macOS 13+ and the one-time privileged helper on the Mac).
  • Device rename — set a friendly display name by tapping the device title. See Rename a device.
  • Agent health and the activity log with filters.
  • Triggers — per-device and cross-device webhooks, shortcuts, and alerts.
  • Notifications — an in-app bell for alert history.

You sign in with the same email and one-time emailed code as the web dashboard.

Home Screen widget

A configurable small / medium / large widget with tappable buttons that fire actions in the background — no app launch needed. In the widget’s configuration you pick which Mac it targets and a Keep-Awake duration for its caffeinate button.

Siri & voice (native App Intents)

Built-in phrases like “Lock my Mac with CommandLatch” or “Caffeinate my Mac with CommandLatch” for Lock, Lock + Sleep, Sleep, Mute, Volume, Play/Pause, and Keep Awake. The actions appear in the Shortcuts gallery with device and action pickers.

iPhone push alerts

The app receives alert pushes so a trigger from the dashboard, CLI, a webhook, or a shortcut can ping your phone. You can set these up today, but until the app ships there’s no phone registered to receive them, so an alert resolves to No devices (it’s still logged in the dashboard Notifications view).
